Under the European 2018 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you, as a client, have specific rights. To communicate these rights to you in a clear and concise manner, I am providing you with this Privacy Notice.

Any information that you share with me and by which you could be identified, will only be used in accordance with this Privacy Notice. I may change this Privacy Notice from time to time, by updating this page in line with the legislation. This Privacy Notice is effective from 23 May 2024.

Personal Data

Any personal data you share with me, including your name and contact details, will be held securely. I use this information to provide a counselling service and to run and maintain my business. I will not share this information with any other person, save where you indicate that you or someone else is at risk of significant harm, in which case I reserve the right to contact a GP or other appropriate support services if I deem it appropriate. I provide detailed information about this at a first counselling appointment or on request.

In the event that I can no longer provide counselling services as part of an unplanned event, I have a Clinical Will with my supervisor who would then have access to your contact information to agree with you next steps to provide appropriate support.

I will retain personal data for the duration of my work with you and for a period of 5 years after our work has ended. If you make initial contact with me but do not go on to attend counselling sessions, I will delete your information after one month.

Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal data that I hold about you at any time, to be kept informed of the way your personal data is processed and to have your personal data corrected or erased. If you have any concerns about my use of your personal data, you can make a complaint to me using the contact details at the top of this privacy notice. If you remain unhappy with how I have used your data after raising a complaint with us, you can also complain to the ICO.
